Tropentheater in Amsterdam will put the spotlight for four days on the successful Indian actor and director Rajat Kapoor. Kapoor will be present during these four days for a Q & A and a meet and greet.

As an actor Kapoor appeared in 32 films. He also directed, wrote and produced 10 films. In 2009 he directed his first theatrical performance: Hamlet – The Clown Prince.

From Tuesday 26th of October till 29th of October two of his films and his theatrical performances will be showcased at the event.

His film Mithya(2008) starring Ranvir Shorey, Neha Dhupia, Vinay Pathak, Irawati Harshe, Harsh Chhaya and Naseeruddin Shah will be screened. This movie is anything but a Bollywood film. Mithiya is rather sinister, but modern in style and design – and with humor. It reminds you of the work of Quentin Tarantino.

The second film Fatso! (2009) is a comedy full of complications. It’s “A High Calorie Love Story ‘ with Ranvir Shorey – who had gained 33 pounds especially for this role – and Gul Panag.

In the play Hamlet – The Clown Prince, Kapoor shows his fascination with clowns and jokers again. Hamlet through the eyes of a clown, a comic version of a tragedy. Shooting back and forth between slapstick, villainous venom and tender moments, has the actors tumbling through a piece that is different every night.

And of course Bollyspice will be present. We will have an exclusive interview with the actor next week so watch this space for much more!
