Anees Bazmee is undeterred by all the combative talks pitching his much-awaited Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. He actually is appalled by stories of One-upmanship between Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again.
Taking time off from his frantic post-production work, Anees told this writer, “I don’t understand this competitive argument, nor do I appreciate it. Why can’t two films be successful on the same Friday? It has happened in the past. I would want both Bhool Bhulaiyaa2 and Singham Returns to do well.”
Anees gets slightly emotional as he speaks of the Singham team. “Ajay Devgan and I go back a long way. He was the leading man of my non-comedy films Deewaangee and Pyar Toh Hona Hi Tha. Akshay and I have collaborated on a number of hit films. And Singham director Rohit Shetty is a friend. We are all part of the same entertainment industry. I wish all the best for his film and I am sure he wishes the same for me.”
Anees is not a fan of these negative combative stories. “Recently I was quoted as saying that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is much better than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. An equal amount of blood, sweat and tears have gone into both. I had to clarify that both parts of the Franchise are like my own children. I can’t compare one with the other. But yes, there is a noticeable growth in Kartik Aaryan’s performing skills. Today he is one of the most dependable and versatile actors. He can do Chandu Champion and Bhool Bhulaiya in the same breath. Logon ne Bhool Bhulaiya 2 go bahot pyar diya tha. I hope they shower the same love on Bhool Bhulaiya 3.”
About the delay in the trailer release Anees says, “That is the marketing team’s decision. Main film banata hoon. How it is marketed is not my decision. Once the trailer out, you will see how much the film has to give.”
