After the release of his maiden voyage as a producer,Gandhi My Father, Anil Kapoor is said to be very satisfied with the reaction the film has received from the critics, as well as, the audience. Although, the box office collections at the moment aren’t looking bright, Anil feels that the film will pick up from next week onwards because a film of this genre takes time to grow.

Now that he has his first film as a producer under his belt, he has decided on his second project. The film is titled Shortcut and will star Akshaye Khanna, Arshad Warsi, and Amrita Rao. The film is set to be totally different from what Gandhi My Father had to offer. It is said to be a comedy. Neeraj Vora, who directed Phir Hera Pheri and also wrote the many scripts for Priyadarshan’s comedies, will be directing Shortcut.

Anil will not be acting in his second straight production. He says it is because the dates of Shortcut will be clashing with the two films he is already committed to (Subhash Ghai’s Yuvraaj and Yash Raj’s Tashan). He wants to further establish his production house, and did not want to hold up the shooting of Shortcut just so he can be a part of the film, so he decided to not act in it.

In the meantime, Gandhi My Father, which was shot in Hindi and English simultaneously, will have the English version releasing soon. The Hindi version is the one that released worldwide this past week.

With so much going on in his career at the moment, Anil Kapoor sure does have many reasons to be excited. We wish Anil the best in acheiving success for his production house.
