Yesterday, we reported that the IIFA Voting Weekend had begun and the Kareena Kapoor was the first to cast her vote! Also there on the first day of a three day voting weekend where Arjun Rampal, Karan Johar, Sonu Sood, Riteish Deshmukh, Yash Chopra, Ramesh Sippy, J.P. Dutta, Manmohan Shetty, with many more to come. Each year over 1000 industry stalwarts, actors, directors, producers, technicians and composers among others cast their votes, which decide the nominations for the awards. The popular category nominations will then be available for the global audience to participate in the voting process. The final winners of the IIFA Awards are revealed on the night of the Awards ceremony when the envelope is opened onstage, in front of the live audience.
IIFA this year will be held in Toronto Canada during the weekend of June 23rd to the 25th. The IIFA Weekend and Awards is a celebration of Indian Cinema consisting of film-festivals, workshops, exhibitions, film-showcases, the IIFA Rocks fashion show, global business forums and sporting events, all of which climax into the highlight of the Weekend, the IIFA Awards Ceremony which honours the best of Indian cinema. Fans of Indian cinema from all over the world converge to celebrate Indian cinema, whereas millions worldwide catch the telecast from the comforts of their home.
