When Aviraaj Singh, the polo-playing, pleasure-seeking, party prince, heir to the royal throne of Morpur, meets high-functioning, tightly wound, ace CEO Sophia Kanmani Shekhar, sparks and insults fly as they reluctantly come together to save his royally dysfunctional family from financial ruin and to save her own leading startup of luxury homestays in India from shark investment bankers. Two worlds, one of dwindling aristocracy and the other of racing capitalism, converge and throw up a whirlwind of clashing ambitions, steamy romance, and fashion-forward Instagrammable moments. The Royals is a breezy romcom with a side of dreamy palace life under the blazing royal sun.
Rangita and Ishita Pritish Nandy, known for their contemporary pop culture and spirited storytelling, shared: “The Royals, being our very first with Netflix, had to be just the right blend of coming-of-age-India, Gen Z storytelling and feisty fun! There is the inevitable romance of old royalty, monarchs without crowns, and the incredible drive of today’s startup warriors for whom crowns hold zero shine. Sparks and insults will fly when these two worlds clash, and that has been great fun for us to create and produce! We’re thrilled to be a part of the Netflix family and partner with them to take our tale of a girl-meets-boy, the classic maharaja (king) and aamkumari (commoner) tale, to a global audience.”
Crime and action take center stage in thrilling narrative series, each offering a unique take on high-stakes storytelling. Mandala Murders weaves mystical undertones into a gripping mystery, while Dabba Cartel is an intense thriller that reimagines power and agency from a whole new perspective. Together, these titles showcase the best of India’s crime and action genre with bold, unforgettable stories.
Returning favorites are coming, too. Yes, beloved series such as Khakee, Rana Naidu, Kohrra, and Delhi Crime return bigger with gripping new storylines and fresh perspectives. Whether chasing a drug lord across Bengal, exploring underworld dynamics, or uncovering a global human trafficking racket, these series promise excellence.

Creator and showrunner Armaan Jain shares: “This film has been one of the most incredible and emotional experiences of my life. It’s a dream l’ve carried with me since childhood — a chance to share my love for storytelling, food, and family with the world. It’s my first time conceptualizing, producing, and show running, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to bring it to life. Growing up in the Kapoor family, food and cinema weren’t just passions — they were the moments that brought us together. The real magic happens around the dinner table, where stories, laughter, and memories define who we are. This film is my way of honoring that legacy, celebrating the bonds that connect us, and sharing the warmth that food and family bring.” With Smriti Mundhra as director, we’ve crafted something heartfelt and authentic that reflects not just our family, but the joy of sharing a meal, of passing down recipes and stories, of finding comfort in each other’s company. Alongside my partners, Varun and Naval, at Aavashyak Media, we are excited to share this part of our world with audiences worldwide. We couldn’t have asked for a better partner than Netflix to help bring this vision to life. Featuring the Kapoor family icons across generations, Dining with the Kapoors invites you to grab a plate, because we’ve saved you a seat at our table! Hope you’re hungry!”
