Still fresh from his first major hit Ishaqzaade, newcomer Arjun Kapoor has already signed up to an array of projects which I am sure he hopes will aim to satisfy the audiences’ taste buds. They include two more upcoming films with Yash Raj Films which are Aurangzeb and Gunday, as well as a film adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s bestselling book 2 States. Arjun has now bagged a fourth project with his father Boney Kapoor. It is a Hindi remake of the Telugu film Okkadu (2003) which Boney has bought the rights to. This is the first time that both father and son will be joining forces for a film. Arjun confirmed this to an Indian newspaper and stated the following: “It is going to be a very emotional process. As a son, and as an actor, I want to give my papa my best. There won’t be any bigger happiness for my family. I will go the extra mile for the project and so will he.”
In addition, a close source to Boney had this to say to an Indian newspaper: “He (Boney) bought the rights to Okkadu only recently. Arjun was his first choice for the film. Boney is very happy that at last, he has something where he and Arjun can work together. The director and the balance cast of the film will be decided soon.” Surely this and the other cool projects Arjun has signed up to will help to reinforce his popularity. As someone who is still a fresh face to many Bollywood fans, he has yet to prove his eclectic abilities as an actor. Will his dad Boney provide him with additional platform to achieve this? We will have to wait and see!
