Yes, Karan Johar is back yet again but this time with a new set and a new season. Koffee with Karan Season 3 opened with the “ever graceful” Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. All the buddies sat on Karan’s leather couch albeit their cups of joe. Ash giggled and then giggled again. Bachchan Junior praised his wife’s beauty and then her grace. And amidst the constant praising, the couple actually discussed a number of interesting topics pertaining to the family, their wedding and the industry.

Abhishek explained the reason behind his “small intimate” wedding ala his ailing hospitalized grandmother and expressed that while they would have loved to have invited the entire industry, they chose to keep the shaadi to just family and close friends. Ash reiterated the same before she went on to talk about how she doesn’t feel the need to tell the press of the ways that she and Abhishek make up after an argument. In addition, she went on to talk about how she can’t befriend ladies of the industry simply because they all prefer to talk shop most of the time. Instead, she preferred hanging with the lads. Hubby Abhishek went on to say that his friends too treated her like one of the boys.

The awaited Rapid Fire round saw Ash get vague as she chose not to answer the questions with a straightforward answer. When asked which stars wouldn’t a party hosted by her, she simply passed on the question. Abhishek on the other hand, was a lot more candid as he answered openly and honestly about his favorite co-stars, male and female.
And as the show came to a close, the couple signed the infamous coffee mug before a preview of next week’s episode featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan played as the couple left.

Karan Johar was also heard saying that he does tend to chop certain parts of the show if needed. “Yes, I do, a lot of times. Indeed, the uncut version of ‘KWK’ will be much more controversial than what one sees. But that’ll always be with me and never shared with the audience. In reverse, at times, I also call up my guests and say `Look, I don’t think this particular part is going to go down well with the audience, so I am deleting it,” he told a local tabloid. And thus, he believes that the uncut versions are a lot more honest, candid and controversial. However, he does feel the need to edit. “For me, it’s not about any sensational punch line that would attract viewers. So when I call my guests, I ought to respect them,” he clarified.

Next week features both reigning young heroes while the episode after, will see Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone sharing Karan’s couch together.
