Asin, who is currently shooting her second Bollywood movie – London Dreams with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan – is rumoured to have been offered two crores to appear opposite Vijay in the Kollywood movie Vettaikaran. She previously starred with him in Sivakasi and Pokkiri – both mega-hits in the South. “I am currently in London, shooting for London Dreams. The movie’s producer, Balasubramanian spoke to me and I am very eager to act with Vijay once again. When I get back to Mumbai in November I will have a detailed story discussion session with the makers. I also have another Hindi movie on hand that starts shooting from February 2009. So I have to see if my dates can be adjusted.”
We are all currently eagerly awaiting her performance in Aamir Khan’s Ghajini, the remake of the Kollywood original that she also starred in and for which she won a Filmfare Best Actress Award. Her last Tamil film was Dasavatharam opposite Kamal Hassan.
Asin already has one big fan because of the Hindi Ghajini and that’s her co-star Aamir. “Everyone is acquainted with the story of Ghajini,” he says, “We are making it in a new style in Hindi. Director Murugadoss is impressive, interesting and a total workaholic. And I have volumes to speak about Asin. I can say one thing that she is going to make it big in Bollywood once Ghajini hits the theatres.”
