The award-winning film AMERICAN WARRIOR will be releasing in select theaters starting Friday, August 29, and also will be available nationwide on VOD and digital platforms. Starring Danny Trejo, Vishy Ayyar, Veronica Falcon, Taylor Treadwell, and Omi Vaidya, the film has inspired audiences at numerous film festivals including the Heartland International Film Festival, International Film Festival of India Goa, Buenos Aires International Film Festival, and the San Antonio Film Festival.
AMERICAN WARRIOR is the story of an Indian-American immigrant and amateur MMA fighter, fresh out of jail; a Prodigal Son who must redeem and rebuild his life to become a better man. During an unexpected encounter in a convenience store our protagonist steps in to stop a robbery, and finds himself suddenly and uncomfortably in the limelight hailed as a local hero. He is entered into a local MMA tournament, and in order to win, he must look deep within to overcome his past transgressions in order to find redemption and move forward.
AMERICAN WARRIOR is about a man with a troubled past who decides to turn his life around after a heroic act by training for a mixed martial arts tournament. It is based around Vishy Ayyar’s own underdog story and true events.
