Bollywood sensation Ranbir Kapoor will assume the guise of a cheeky chappy in his latest film incarnation as a car mechanic with a big heart and a penchant for petty theft in the comedy film of the year Besharam (Shameless), releasing 2nd October 2013 through Reliance Entertainment.
Besharam marks the first film to feature Ranbir Kapoor with his parents, screen legends Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. The film also stars Pallavi Sharda who made her debut in My Name is Khan and comedy king-pin Javed Jaffery. It is directed by the accomplished Abhinav Kashyap, who previously directed the blockbuster Dabangg. The musical score comes from popular film composer Lalit Pandit responsible for memorable scores for mega cinematic hits such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dabangg.
Ranbir Kapoor plays ‘Babli’, a street smart, fun-loving, football-playing car mechanic who has seen the dark side of life as one of India’s many desolate orphan children. The worldly-wise Babli learnt at a young age how to survive the trauma of having no one to care for him. He grew up fast in a Delhi orphanage and has devoted his life to helping and mentoring the other children in the shelter. The cheeky and fiercely independent Babli takes as his life motto: “Na Samaan Ka Moh, Na Apmaan ka Bhay“, translated as “No Want for Respect, No Fear of Disrespect”. The film unfolds his many ‘besharam’ moments with hilarious consequences.
Babli has no sense of right or wrong till he unwittingly hurts the love of his life, Tara (Pallavi Sharda). Babli realises that there is no right way of doing the wrong thing. He sets out to fix all the wrongs in his life but continues to be shameless as he does so. But his parents Inspectors Chulbul Chautala (Rishi Kapoor) and Bulbul Chautala (Neetu Kapoor) are after him to mend his mischievous ways.
This year let your shameless side out and be a ‘Besharam’ by enjoying one of the year’s cheekiest films. Besharam releases nationally on 2nd October 2013 through Reliance Entertainment.
