Hrithik-Barbara (Kites)
What didn’t work: The buzz about Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori was huge even before Kites reached the audiences. Rumoured to have been seeing each other behind the camera, the two were said to share a sizzling rapport which could only have been a stroke of luck for their forthcoming movie. Regrettably this couldn’t have been further from the truth as was found out once the film was released. Hot they were not and any rumours of an affair were ill-founded.
Verdict: Kites didn’t fly… and neither did any sparks.
So there we have it; some jodis we can only yearn to see again whereas others we yearn never to set eyes on in the future. There were, of course, many other jodis that came into the status quo in 2010 such as Arjun Rampal – Katrina Kaif (Raajneeti), and Imran Khan – Sonam Kapoor (I Hate Luv Storys) and Farhan Akhtar – Deepika Padukone (Karthik Calling Karthik). It remains to be seen whether bad jodis come good or vice-versa. We hope that some, at least, are given the chance to stand the test of time… if they deserve it!
