Bhairavi Goswami says she is pleased with her performance in My Ganesha 2. In particular, she feels it has gone some way to helping her shed her item girl image. “I think I have arrived in Bollywood with this film which has provided me with my best role to date,” she says. “It appears that comedy is my forte as an actor. I found it fairly effortless to take on a role in which I was shown fighting all the time with my husband Harsh Chhaya.”
Bhairavi, however, does not look down on item girls. “I do concede that Rakhi Sawant is fantastic. I also have no qualms about accepting that I cannot do as well as Rakhi when it comes to strutting my stuff. I can’t even do 10 % of what she does and hence I don’t even want to make any attempt to poach her territory. My USP as an actor is that I have the big advantage of also having done theatre with as many as eight plays and over 600 shows in not only Hindi and Gujarati but also in English”.
Bhairavi first caught our attention of course – as it would – as the nymphomaniac girlfriend in Bheja Fry and will soon be seen in Mr Bhatti on Chutti as Anupam Kher’s secretary-cum-girlfriend whom he takes on holiday to London. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan. She then plays a teacher in the children’s movie Kachcha Limboo and then the evil scientist in another children’s movie My Daddy Strongest. She then plays a professor in Rishi Kapoor’s Kal Kisne Dekha and finally is being lined up for a return performance in Bheja Fry 2.
So remember, Bhairavi’s not just an item girl but a very flexible actress who is set to entertain us all with her versatility in the years ahead.
