For those who might have missed the epic performance Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, you will now get your chance on Netflix starting April 26th. The critically acclaimed film also features Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, Jim Sarbh and Seema Pahwa among others.
A story of strength, inspiration and resilience the film tells the journey of a girl who was a sex worker and eventually became an underworld don in Mumbai. The tale walks through the life of young Ganga who in no time marks her own territory and becomes Gangubai – The Matriarch of Kamathipura. Gangubai Kathiawadi is said to be based on a portion of author Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens Of Mumbai.
