Bipasha Basu is ready to set the screen on fire in the innovative Pankh by appearing as nine different versions of Maradona Rebello’s alter-ego, existing as the story explores the causes and consequences of the protagonist’s multiple personality disorder. “If the boy is feeling aggressive, Bipasha’s look is also aggressive,” says director Sudipto Chattapadhyay. “If he is in an erotic mood, her avatar too transforms into an erotic one. Her nine looks cover the entire gamut of emotions.”
Bipasha is looking great in a classic black swimsuit on the cover of this month’s FHM magazine and the fitness loving Bips confides to her audience that she doesn’t have to try too hard to look good every day. “If you are healthy and fit, everything looks good on you,” she says.
Bips recognises that her role starring opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Dum Maaro Dum could provide her with entry into western cinema. It’s the second investment from Fox Star Studios after My Name is Khan and is certain to benefit from their marketing and distribution channels worldwide. “It’s an amazing script that we are all very excited about,” explains a spokesman for the company, “It’s going to be a film to watch out for in 2010.”
