Bipasha Basu is reported to have signed her first international production.
Singularity, which will be directed by Roland Joffe, sees Bipasha playing the character of Tulaja Naik, an Indian warrior who falls in love with a British officer.
Speaking to news agency IANS, the actress announced: “I am very excited… but have to admit that I am also a little nervous. Everything happened really fast.”
Bips revealed that she had not had much time to prepare for the role, which she was cast in only a month ago.
“I am not getting much preparation time right now. I have been given just eight days to prepare for underwater scenes and horse riding….I wish I had at least a month’s time for preparation” said the Bengali star.
The production is said to be a love story covering two time periods, which will be filmed in India and Australia.
Offbeat actor and Dev D star Abhay Deol is also rumoured to be part of the project.
The film is expected to release in Autumn 2011.
