There are three people looking for a hat-trick from the upcoming release Bodyguard: Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and film director Siddique.

Salman delivered two blockbuster Eid releases in the last two years— Wanted (2009) and Dabangg (2010) and is now looking forward to delivering a hat-trick with Bodyguard this Eid. Kareena Kapoor delivered two blockbusters in the last two years – 3 Idiots (2009) and Golmaal 3 (2010) and is hoping to score her hat-trick with Bodyguard. Also hoping for a Bodyguard hat-trick is director Siddique who delivered two super hits with the original versions of Bodyguard in Malayalam and in Tamil and is now hoping the same for his debut Hindi version.

So what’s the difference between the three versions? Well, in addition to a much bigger budget, according to Siddique: “The major difference is the characterisation of the hero. In the Malayalam and Tamil versions, the hero was a college dropout who becomes a bodyguard. In the Hindi version he is a professional bodyguard. Other than that, in Malayalam the treatment was more comical, in Tamil it was more romantic but in Hindi we have tried to tap the macho side of Salman Khan”.

Bodyguard releases on 31st August.
