After a few years full of failure and boredom, Bollywood was back with a bang in 2006! Starting off with the success of Rang De Basanti, the year gradually proceeded with remarkable films such as Fanaa, Krrish, Corporate, Omkara, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Dhoom 2 to name a few. Choosing a winner between these tremendously splendid films was not an easy task for the BollySpice Community.

Every year, Forum members decide what films and stars take the honour for their grand work. After the overwhelming work of days and nights, our members put together a list of nominations with the help of our panel of judges. The list was based on the quality of the films and their success at the box office. These nominations were then put forward in online polls in our forum. Over one thousand five hundred votes were collected in the time span of one month and the winners were declared in the month of February.

Here is the list of winners that we think deserved all the accolades this year:

Best Actor: Hrithik Roshan (Dhoom 2) & Aamir Khan (Fanaa)
Best Actress: Aishwarya Rai (Umrao Jaan)
Best Director: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra (Rang De Basanti)

Best Supporting Actor: Abhishek Bachchan (Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna)
Best Supporting Actress: Konkona Sen Sharma (Omkara)
Best Actor in a Negative Role: Saif Ali Khan (Omkara)
Best Actor in a Comic Role: Rajpal Yadav (Chup Chup Ke)
Best Newcomer (Female): Kangana Ranaut (Gangster)
Best Newcomer (Male): Siddharth (Rang De Basanti)
Breakthrough Performance (Female): Esha Deol (Ankahee)

Best Soundtrack: A.R. Rahman (Rang De Basanti)
Best Singer (Male): Atif Aslam (Tere Bin – Bas Ek Pal)
Best Singer (Female): Sunidhi Chauhan (Beedi – Omkara)

Star of the Year (Female): Aishwarya Rai
Star of the Year (Male): Hrithik Roshan

Best Story: Rang De Basanti
Best Dialogue: Fanaa
Best Special Effects: Krrish
Best Screenplay: Fanaa
Best Action: Allan Amin (Dhoom 2)
