So take a moment to check out the cool tunes which we think are best for Eid and which you will ultimately grow to love!

1. Baad Muddat Ke Yeh Ghadi Ayee: Jahan Ara (1964) – This soulful romantic number from the historical epic Jahan Ara is truly breath-taking to listen to. The golden lyrics, the superb picturization, as well as great vocals from Mohd. Rafi and Suman Kalyanpur make this a song which you should not miss out on!

2. Mubarak Eid Mubarak: Tumko Na Bhool Payenge (2002) – This film is definitely one of the least memorable Salman Khan starrers. Yet if there is one good thing to come out from Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, it’s this wonderful celebratory tune which wishes everyone ‘Eid Mubarak.’

3. Shukran Allah: Kurbaan (2009) – This popular Sufi number from the Kareena-Saif starrer Kurbaan is tuneful and exquisitely composed by Salim-Sulaiman. Plus, what better two contemporary musicians to sing this song than Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. Both of them make this truly electrifying to listen to.

4. Mashallah: Ek Tha Tiger (2012) – When it comes to Bollywood, Salman Khan has always been there to entertain us during the Eid festivities. Mashallah is no doubt one of the greatest songs to be picturized on Salman and Katrina Kaif and for many; it is a highly addictive track. Surely the amazing Middle Eastern samples, as well as Wajid and Shreya Ghoshal’s vocals contributed significantly in the popularity of this one.

5. Bismillah: Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Dobaara (2013) – For those who are looking for a completely fresh track to hear on Eid, then ‘Bismillah’ from OUATIMD will provide you with just that. A club track (though still Indian at heart), this peppy track will definitely stick to your mind for quite some time. Check it out for yourselves; though be prepared to get into the groove for this one!

6. Mujhe Allah Ki Kasam: Sanam Bewafa (1991) – Arguably a forgotten film, Sanam Bewafa was a box office hit at the time of its release and had a very catchy soundtrack. One of the great songs to be included was ‘Mujhe Allah Ki Kasam,’ which is picturized on Salman Khan and the actress Chandni. Sung by Indian nightingale Lata Mangeshkar and Vipin Sachdev, the song has a great blend of Sufi and rustic elements to it which will attract many listeners.

7. Isq Risk: Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011) – A box office hit, as well as the first film to pair Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif together, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan has a very peppy soundtrack which will remain popular for years to come. However, the best song to emerge from this film is undoubtedly Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s ‘Isq Risk,’ which has a cool mix of classical and modern Indian samples to it. We guarantee that you will enjoy this one!

8. Tere Pyar Mein Dildar: Mere Mehboob (1963) – Set against the backdrop of Lucknow, Mere Mehboob is an eternal classic and became the highest-grossing film during the year of its release. It also had a splendid classical soundtrack from legendary composer Naushad Ali, who was the brains behind the music to Mughal-E-Azam (1960). This melodious tune by Lata Mangeshkar lives up to the term Bollywood and the picturization to it will only make you love the song even more!

9. Yoon Shabnami: Saawariya (2007) – Considered a disaster of a film, Sanjay Leela Bhanshali’s Saawariya nevertheless had some well-composed songs that are of relevance today. One song that instantly comes to mind during this festive occasion is the wonderful ‘Yoon Shabnami,’ which is sung by Parthiv Gohil and picturized on then debutants Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.

10. Wallah Re Wallah: Tees Maar Khan (2010) – Dubbed as a horrendous Bollywood movie, Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan does have a few likable elements to it. One includes the up-tempo Eid track ‘Wallah Re Wallah,’ which is picturized on Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan. Check it out and see if you agree with us.

11. Chaudhvin Ka Chand Ho (Title Song): Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1961) – Surely any diehard Bollywood fan is aware of just what a phenomenal singer Mohd. Rafi was. If there is one song where he manages to showcase his vocals extremely well, then it is definitely this sensational ballad from Guru Dutt’s Chaudhvin Ka Chand. A classic in its own right, it is a lovely song to include in your playlist during the Eid festivities!

12. Khwaja Mere Khwaja: Jodhaa Akbar (2008) – Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodhaa Akbar is perhaps one of the greatest historical epics to have been made in Bollywood history, along with Mughal-E-Azam (1960) and Lagaan (2001). It also had great music from the one and only A.R. Rahman, who gave it the Mughal touch which it needed. This is evident in the song ‘Khawaja Mere Khawaja,’ which has some great Sufi blends that you will enjoy!

13. Noor-E-Khuda: My Name is Khan (2010) – Karan Johar’s dramatic production is one of the most ground-breaking films to have released in recent years and contains a power-packed performance from Shah Rukh Khan. One of the most memorable songs from My Name is Khan, which is also a great one to hear on Eid is ‘Noor-E-Khuda, sung by Adnan Sami, Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal.

14. Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya: Mughal-E-Azam (1960) – Let’s face it. This list would feel incomplete if we didn’t include a song the eternal Bollywood classic Mughal-E-Azam. Though all the songs by Naushad Ali are perfection, one which has become so iconic is the love ballad ‘Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya.’ Sung by Lata Mangeshkar, it is picturized on legendary actress Madhubala who delivers an amazing classical Indian dance performance in a sheesh mahal.

15. Chand Sifarish: Fanaa (2006) – Though Kunal Kohli’s Fanaa got a mixed reception upon release, everyone was all praise for the Aamir-Kajol pairing, as well as its soundtrack by music duo Jatin-Lalit. One song which we think is a must-listen for all is the melodious ‘Chand Sifarish,’ which is sung by Shaan and Kailash Kher. Both singers won the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award that year for their work in this song.

The entire team at BollySpice would like to wish EID MUBARAK to all our readers and supporters and hope that the year ahead brings them nothing but joy, health, peace and goodness!
