The 83rd Annual Academy Awards took place at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. It was not just Hollywood’s A-Listers that walked the red carpet but some of Bollywood’s brightest attended the Oscars.
Abhishek Bachchan and wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the red carpet together. Aishwarya opted for a trendy shimmering bronze Armani Prive gown whilst hubby Abhishek chose a smart black suit and bow tie.
Abhishek and Aishwarya were not the only Bollywood stars attending the event, Mallika Sherawat too shimmered on the red carpet in a Mark Bouwer sequined white gown. Mallika Sherawat shared her excitement about being at the Oscars with her fans via Twitter. The actress tweeted, “lovin being here, such energy in this room! Nicole Kidman is so sweet said I looked stunning OMG:) She’s gorgeous and TALL!”
Music maestro, A. R. Rahman returned to the awards ceremony, walking the red carpet with his wife Saira Banu. A. R. Rahman opted for a smart, black suit and a vibrant blue tie. Saira Banu chose Indian attire wearing a white Indian style suit with a white and gold scarf covering her head. A. R Rahman was nominated for an Oscar for his song ‘If I Rise’ for Danny Boyle’s ‘127 Hours.’ Unfortunately A.R Rahman did not take home an Oscar this year, but he did perform the song on stage with British singer Florence Welch.
