Whether it’s taking off at airports moving between her six current film projects, or walking the ramp for top fashion designer Soumitra Mandal at the Kolkata Fashion Week, Bollywood actress Neetu Chandra can’t seem to escape runways. “Only a pilot can date me,” she exclaims, “I’ll end up romancing him in the cockpit!”
Neetu stole the show at the Mandal collection, wearing a fabulous handwoven linen black-and-white 60s-style small check dress. “I really liked the look of the outfit I am wearing,” Neetu says, “I am a very casual kind of person. I carry myself according to the place I am going to.”
The Kolkata Fashion Week has already become a prestigious event and is packed with Bollywood stars such as Sameera Reddy, who wore an exquisite rustic and gold ghagra for Neeta Lulla, and Minissha Lamba, who walked for Monapali.
But it was Riya Sen who set the audience buzzing with her wraparound design from Kaushik and Pallab with purple silk pleats flaring around her chest and an embellished bottom frame with intricate bead work. With oiled hair in a topknot, she sashayed down the ramp looking in complete control.
