Bollywood Movie Awards Nominees Announced

The nominees for the 9th annual Bollywood Movie Awards have been revealed. The nominees are based on a poll conducted among non-resident Indians in the United States, Britain and Caribbean nations over the last three months. Announcing the nominations, CEO of the Bollywood Group of companies Kamal Dandona said, “the increasing number of NRIs participating in the poll shows that they maintain keen interest in movies produced in their land of birth.”

Three films were nominated in an outstanding 17 categories each; those films include Omkara, Rang De Basanti, and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Lage Raho Munnabhai was nominated in eleven and Dhoom 2 in ten categories.

A committee of critics, artists and other leading personalities will decide the winners of these categories and several others. The awards will be presented on May 26th in New York.

Many of the nominees are slated to perform including Bipasha Basu, Vivek Oberoi, Arjun Rampal, and Soha Ali Khan. Other celebrities are also scheduled to attend and it seems to be an incredible night to see some your favorite film stars perform and take home accolades.

It will be a glittering star filled night, an incredible celebration of the Indian Film Industry!
