East Shopping Centre, Europe’s first purpose-built boutique Asian shopping centre, hosted an exclusive meet and greet with international film star Anil Kapoor on Saturday 20th August 2016.

Lucky fans had the opportunity to meet and snap selfies with one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars. The star of over 100 films in a career spanning an incredible 40 years, Anil Kapoor was in London promoting Season Two of his explosive TV series, 24 on Colors TV, for which he is also a producer.

Bob Popat, a partner at ACR Investments said: “This has been a fantastic day for all of our team here at East Shopping Centre. Welcoming a truly global star to our centre and to the local neighbourhood to interact with so many fans. Anil Kapoor is an iconic figure not only in Indian cinema, but in Hollywood as well so we’ve had fans queuing up here since early morning to catch a glimpse. Anil Kapoor is a true superstar and it was a pleasure to meet him. He made a huge effort to meet as many fans as possible, many of whom had been waiting to meet the film legend for several hours. We hope to bring many more big names to East Shopping Centre in the near future.”

Anil Kapoor is reprising his lead role of anti-terrorism agent, Jai Singh Rathod, which was inspired by Kiefer Sutherland’s iconic tortured hero Jack Bauer. His adaptation of the TV series 24 is as thrilling and gritty as the original, with Season Two seeing Rathod facing terrorists who have threatened to release a deadly virus across India.

Of his promotional visit to East Shopping Centre, Anil Kapoor tweeted of his visit: “#EastShoppingCentre! #24IndiaS2 is here with the madness… Always great to see so many happy faces.”

Kapoor has successfully crossed over to Hollywood, starring in major blockbusters like the Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol with Tom Cruise, as well as the original 24 series with Kiefer Sutherland.

From chic couture and everyday fashions to specialist modest-wear shops and bridal couture, there is something for everyone and every budget at East Shopping Centre. East has also become a prime destination for wedding shoppers, with several outlets specifically servicing brides and grooms or those attending parties and events.
