Border 2’s soulful ‘Jaate Hue Lamhon’ dropped yesterday, and producer Nidhi Dutta shared a deeply personal moment from the past, offering a rare glimpse into the memories that shaped her journey with the film and its music.
This track is a new version of ‘Jaate Hue Lamhon’ by Anu Malik and Javed Akhtar from the 1997 war classic Border, it has been reimagined by Mithoon. With a melody that has lived on in the hearts of generations, ‘Jaate Hue Lamhon’ is reborn with renewed depth and energy. Composed by Anu Malik and Mithoon, written by celebrated lyricist Javed Akhtar, the song is brought to life by the fan-favourite singer Vishal Mishra along with the eternal voice of singer Roop Kumar Rathod.
In a very special post, Nidhi Dutta reflected on a childhood memory tied to the song, recalling how she once missed school on her grandfather’s birthday to visit the set of Border and meet her grandfather and father at work. For Nidhi, the image holds special meaning, representing three father figures in her life, her grandfather, her father, and Suniel Shetty, making the song not just a musical moment, but an emotional bridge across generations.
She wrote, “As #JaateHueLamhon launches today… sharing my memories from the shoot of the song… it was Dadajis birthday so I got to miss school and go meet him & papa on set… This picture literally holds 3 fathers in it for me.. Dadaji, Papa & Suniel Uncle… so many memories with this song… Miss Dadaji so much everytime I hear this… ❤️ #border2”
This note certainly adds a layer of warmth and nostalgia, reminding us that some songs carry not just emotion on screen, but memories that live far beyond it.
