After a bountiful weekend at the box office, Bang Bang maintained good hold right through the week, hence accumulating around 135 crore. With this, Hrithik Roshan has now scored a hat-trick of 100 crore successes after Agneepath and Krrish 3. On the other hand Katrina Kaif has made it four in a row now with Ek Tha Tiger, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Dhoom 3 and now Bang Bang scoring huge. This pretty much establishes the kind of supremacy that the two star-actors have managed to maintain after being in the industry for a decade.

This is pretty much on the expected lines though as 100 crore is the minimum total expected from superstars of this caliber in an out and out commercial outing like this. The real game is to go much bigger and while it is certain that 150 crore would be crossed over the second weekend itself, it would be interesting to see the kind if distance that the film managed to cover from this point on. With two open weeks ahead where this Siddharth Anand film is set to enjoy a high count of screens, a much bigger haul is pretty much on the cards.

On the other hand Haider has done reasonably well in its niche release, though the collections started dipping as the week came to a close. While 41 crore have come in already, one waits to see the kind of hold the Shahid Kapoor starrer maintains in its second and third week. For Vishal Bhardwaj, the film is all set to be his highest grosser ever by surpassing Kaminey (44 crore). However it is very unlikely that Shahid’s record of R… Rajkumar (which had crossed 60 crore mark at the box office) would be broken. The film was done to showcase skill and performance and that objective has been achieved by all involved.

The good news though is that together, the two films have managed to accumulate around 175 crore between them in 8 days, which is huge indeed for Bollywood.
