With a good streak of comic successes behind him, Sajid Khan is now all set to ensure a good start for ‘Humshakals’. The film’s target audience is the one which lapped up ‘Housefull’ and ‘Housefull 2’, both hit films, with the latter even entering the 100 crore club. If the promos of ‘Humshakals’ are any indication, it is out and out comic element which is the strength of the film with the USP being its three leads in a triple role. With the film being a star driven affair, it can well expect a good opening for itself with audience at multiplexes as well as single screens going for it.
Moreover, the film is a solo release and with no competition from past or present, the road is clear for this Vashu Bhagnani and Fox production to earn some good moolah. Since the film is all set for a very wide release, anything over 60% occupancy would ensure some good numbers on Friday itself. In fact the morning shows at some select multiplexes could register higher occupancies as well. Post that it would be the film’s content that should do the talking.
For Saif Ali Khan, the film acts as a comic outing after long and it would be interesting for the audience to see how he fits into the world of ‘Humshakals’. As for Riteish Deshmukh, he arrives with seven successes behind him, with Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull’ (2010) actually kick-starting his dream innings. With another comedy ‘Grand Masti’ being his last superhit (and another 100 crore entry to boast of), all eyes are on him making it eight in a row.
