16apr_kika-boxofficeKi & Ka has emerged as a clean Hit in one week flat. The film had a good start, saw decent growth over the weekend and then stayed stable right through the week (though collections did go below the 3 crore mark in the last couple of days). Still, the job has been done for the film as the Balki directed film has collected 37.57 crore in one week flat.

With this, the film has now turned out to be the third highest Week One of 2016. Here is how the films have scored so far in their first week:

Airlift – 83.5 crore

Kapoor & Sons – 46.93 crore

Ki & Ka – 37.57 crore

Neerja – 35.32 crore

Ghayal Once Again – 34.25 crore

The film has retained a good number of shows in the second week as well which means this weekend should be good as well. The film has a clear shot at the 50 crore mark, which is good news for both Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor. As for Eros, they have started their campaign well in the new financial year and one waits to see if they replicate the tremendous success that they had enjoyed last year.

Meanwhile, Fox is enjoying its time under the sun as well. Neerja has entered its eight week in select theaters across the country and is celebrating 50 days at the Box Office. The film is ending its run at the 76 crore mark.

Kapoor & Sons has now accumulated 71 crore in three weeks. The film could have comfortably gone past the 75 crore mark if not for Ki & Ka which released and turned into an instant success. Still, the Karan Johar and Fox film is a Superhit, hence continuing to bring in cheers for all involved.
