After Sultan, finally there is a film which has done well at the Box Office. There have been quite a few flops in the interim period but the good opening of Dishoom has brought smiles back on the face of exhibitors. Despite the fact that incessant rains impacted collections to a good extent, the film still managed to keep its double digit score intact on Friday [11.05 crore] and Saturday [12.02 crore]. With the word of mouth going right for the film, the collections saw a good push on Sunday [14.25 crore], as a result of which the weekend collections stand at 37.32 crore.
The film is a plus affair for all involved and good profits are on the cards for Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros, the giants who came together for Rohit Dhawan and gave him this fun-on-the-run flick to direct. Since the film is pretty much running solo in theaters now and there is no competition from the Hindi built [though in South there is Kabali and in Punjab there is Bambukat, which is a superhit], Dishoom has the stage set for itself to keep doing well in the weekdays as well.
For John Abraham, this is a welcome success after the release of Rocky Handsome. For Varun Dhawan, this is now his seventh success in a row. The boy is enjoying good audience base building for himself with every passing film. Jacqueline Fernandez has two back to back successes after Housefull 3. As for Rohit Dhawan, he can be happy with the fact that his comeback after five years [Desi Boyz – 2011] has paid off. As for Sajid Nadiadwala, he has scored a hat-trick after Baaghi and Housefull 3. Eros is now looking forward to its two releases – Happy Bhag Jayegi and Baar Baar Dekho, both of which are looking good.
Note: All collections as per production and distribution sources.
