Canadian rockstar Bryan Adams will be appearing alongside Sonal Chauhan in a concert in India in January. Sonal, who is a good singer, is naturally excited at the news: “I am really very excited with this collaboration,” she says, “I am looking forward to performing with him on stage. Ever since my college days I have been a big fan and now, getting the opportunity of being with him on the same stage is like a dream come true. I am not sure for how long the performance will be, but it doesn’t matter to me even if it’s just for a minute, I am already on Cloud 9!”
Sonal made a deep impression on us in Jannat earlier this year and has been filming for Raaz 2. The former Miss World Tourism and philosophy student will then make her debut down South in two movies. The first of these is Rainbow opposite Rahul, for which she has already been filming. “I was amazed with the celluloid vision of my director VN Aditya,” she explains, “His track record shows he is a hardcore lover of the Telegu industry like me. I loved the director’s perception, his script and narration.”
Sonal is socially aware and recently attended a function in support of osteoporosis awareness. How would Sonal like to see her career develop as an actress? “I want to be the one who goes beyond stardom and a sexy image,” she declares, “I want to be considered as a serious actor. I am in no hurry. I am patient enough to wait for meaningful roles.”
