Cast and Crew of Baahubali: The Conclusion at Special BFI UK Screening May 2nd

Unless you are living under a rock you know that one of the most highly anticipated films in Indian cinema Baahubali: The Conclusion is hitting theaters April 28th! Baahubali: The Conclusion is the much-anticipated sequel to one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, Baahubali: The Beginning, and picks up again with hero, Shivudu, as he comes to terms with his legacy.

Now UK readers you are going to get a special treat on May 2nd. The cast and crew members of Indian cinema’s biggest motion picture franchise, Baahubali, will be attending a special UK Screening of Baahubali: The Conclusion (SS Rajamouli, 2017) on Tuesday 3rd May at BFI Southbank as part India on Film season. Principle talent, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia, will join director, SS Rajamouli; music composer, MM Keeravani; and producer Shobu Yarlagadda for an onstage Q&A post the screening.

The film is one of the most eagerly awaited Indian films of the year and the BFI screening will be combined with a unique opportunity to enjoy a specially created VR experience inspired by the film.

SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali is India’s first tent-pole franchise. Produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Mediaworks, the film has been expanded to the World of Baahubali, from films, virtual reality and graphic novels to animated series, a novel trilogy and mobile gaming amongst other properties.

Part 1 of the films, Baahubali: The Beginning, was released on 10th July 2015 in four Indian languages and in over 30 territories internationally, to critical acclaim. One of the most monumental releases in the history of Indian cinema, the film was awarded the prestigious Golden Lotus Award for Best Feature Film at the 63rd National Film Awards in 2015 and has been screened at over 25 film festivals around the world. Part 2 – Baahubali: The Conclusion – releases worldwide on 28th April 2017.

As part the UK India Year of Culture, the BFI has embarked on a celebration of Indian film throughout the rest of 2017. Co-curated by BFI Head Curator Robin Baker and writer and programmer Meenakshi Shedde, the BFI’s India on Film programme is running at BFI Southbank from April – December 2017.
