Celina Jaitley is going to be grabbing a bit of attention on the front cover of the new edition of Stuff this month — and also in her new movie Showman, in which she plays a pole dancer. “I play a half-English and half-Indian girl, who comes from a poor family in London,” she explains, “She grows up to be a stripper and a pole dancer in a night club and a con artist.”
The Afghan-born former Miss India is also lined up to play an Iranian princess in the international movie Quest of Sheherzade that will also star Sean Connery and Orlando Bloom. If that weren’t enough for Celina fans, she will also be walking the ramp this Thursday for top designer Vikram Phadnis at the Gitanjali Lifestyle Style Fest 09.
Celina spent New Year’s Eve at a gala event at the City Pavilion in Romford, London. The event also included to artists such as Rishi Rich and Javed Ali as well as DJs Veronica and Tasha Tah. “I felt like James Bond,” she says “It was a black tie event with the women dressed in gowns. I did the countdown to the accompaniment of Bond’s signature tune with a gigantic confetti-filled crystal ball. The night and event were amazing, and as always London and the people were so warm, loving and supportive.”
