What could be a better occasion to announce the postponement of an eagerly awaited movie than the birthday of its hero?

Warner Bros chose September 9th to make the official announcement that the highly anticipated Chandni Chowk to China, which was scheduled to release during Christmas time this year, has now been postponed until January 16th. Funnily, Akshay Kumar’s 41st birthday happens to be the same day and on the latest advertisement, we can read , “Happy Birthday Kung Fu Master”.

This clearly can’t be taken as a coincidence, since from the beginning of the movie’s promotion, the director Nikhil Advani (Salaam-e-Ishq, Kal Ho Naa Ho), the lead actor and the producers have let it be known that the movie is partially based on Akshay Kumar’s real life. So this was once again an opportunity to link the movie with Akshay’s life.

From Delhi to Shanghai, the movie tells the story of a chef who becomes a martial art expert by mistake. The film will also feature Deepika Padukone, Mithun Chakraborty and Ranvir Shorey.

So on behalf of BollySpice, we wish Akshay “Khiladi” Kumar a happy 41st Birthday and many more hits to come.
