The announcement that Ranbir Kapoor would be going on a world tour in July 2011 was made some time back much to the delight of fans. However, what was not confirmed was details about which other stars would be joining him on stage.

Initially it was expected that Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone would be part of the tour, but now it seems the two girls are no longer part of the tour post the reaction from the Kapoor family to their Koffee with Karan episode. The episode is known to have really annoyed Rishi Kapoor and wife Neetu and since Rishi Kapoor is the 70% producer of the show one can expect this is why there are these changes in the tour lineup.

However, the above statement remains a speculation because the Kapoors have cited other reasons as to why the two girls aren’t part of the shows. Deepika seems to have been overpowered by Katrina who wasn’t comfortable with her appearance in the same world tour. Rishi Kapoor backed up this decision stating that any backstage drama between actresses was undesirable for Ranbir’s first show.

Rishi was also quoted justifying Sonam’s departure from the tour stating it was her decision based on the fact that she doesn’t have as many iconic songs at this stage of her career to match up to the likes of Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.

Stars that haven’t been replaced or removed are Priyanka Chopra, Malaika Arora Khan, Katrina Kaif and Bipasha Basu. Shahid was a worthy candidate for the show as it attempts to bring a youthful feel for the audiences but it seems the actor cannot make the show dates work with his calendar. Replacing him is Atif Aslam who Rishi thinks will do quite well in pulling crowds for the show.

One of the biggest surprises of the show will be a fusion number combining ‘Munni Badnaam’ (Malaika) and ‘Sheila Ki Jawaani’ (Katrina).

Ranbir has never been seen performing on stage for any award function or show which Rishi expects to be the biggest USP of this show as crowds would actually be prepared to pay the heavy sum to see him perform live.

The show will be coming to Canada, US and UK over five weekends in July. Rishi Kapoor also will be making an appearance with his son on stage.

Only time will tell if this tour is everything and more that Rishi Kapoor is hoping for!
