Of course the song is a remix of Asha Bhosle’s, ‘Neend Na Mujhko Aaye’ from the film ‘Post Box 999’, which starred Sunil Dutt and Shakila. This new version was created by Mikey McCleary.
Talking about the song, director Vikas Bahl said at the launch, which by the way was at midnight at a coffee house, “We have given the 60s song the touch of 20s. It is one of the old songs that talks about insomnia so we thought why recreate a new song, take something that is nostalgic and beautiful and recreate it for Shahid and Alia.”
Here’s something interesting the shoot for the song was an all night shoot (which lasted 4 nights) and the crew kept drinking espresso to stay awake. We hear over 137 coffee shots were consumed!
Set for release on October 22, 2015, the film Shaandaar is directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Fox Star Studios, Karan Johar and Phantom films.
