The megastar is back, and he has a massive treat this ‘Eid’ for Hindi movie buffs.
The Badshah of Bollywood is all set to rule the hearts of millions yet again with the much-hyped and most awaited Hindi flick of 2013, Chennai Express, slated for a worldwide release on August 9th. The new offering by Red Chillies Entertainment, directed by Rohit Shetty, will release on August 8th in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Shah Rukh Khan will dazzle the silver screen with the gorgeous Deepika Padukone in the action comedy film. He is paired opposite the South Indian beauty for the second time after the phenomenal success of Om Shanti Om in 2007.
King Khan has always held the reputation of being a star of the masses and talks about it with great aplomb. In an interview to IANS, Shah Rukh reiterates that he has always been a ‘family entertainer’ and promotes his movies widely to be able to reach out to as many people as possible.
“My films are for the masses, similarly ‘Chennai Express’ is for the masses and needed to be promoted extensively,” he said.
SRK has carried out huge promotions for Chennai Express in some Indian cities and overseas along with Deepika. Both the stars were seen in London and Dubai recently.
“I have recently got a surgery done. But I strongly feel that every film requires right marketing and promotions,” he stressed.
Bad health has never dampened Khan’s spirits. He is leaving no stone unturned in promoting his movie. Shah Rukh fanatics in India are seeing him everywhere, literally!!! Be it in shopping malls, multiplexes or on the small screen. The actor however doesn’t feel content.
His concern is justified as Chennai Express will be releasing in more than 4200 screens all over the world with over with 3500 screens in India and more than 700 screens overseas. This film is touted as the widest Indian overseas release till date.
“I’ve always promoted my films extensively. This time it’s less because I am not well,” Shah Rukh added. Meanwhile SRK promises that his new movie will certainly live up to the expectations of his fans.
“Chennai Express’ is a comedy film with a love story, but it’s definitely not like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ or ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’. It’s a family entertainer. There’s a little action too. It’s something that whole family can sit down and watch together,” said Shah Rukh.
