Later this year, two of India’s favorite entertainments, Bollywood and cricket are going to be enjoyed together in one package. The new Bollywood film, Victory, is all about cricket and a boy’s realization of his dream to play for the Indian cricket team.

The film, in production now, is going to have several exciting guest appearances from the cricket world. Along with Bollywood stars Harman Baweja and Amrita Rao, the cast is also going to include several popular cricketers, old and new, playing themselves in the film. On the film’s roster are the Indian team, Australians Brett Lee, Mike Hussey, Jason Gillespie, Allan Border and New Zealanders Craig McMillan, Darly Tuffey, Nathan Astle and Martin Crowe. Also joining in will be Simon Jones and Sajid Mahood from England.

Mahood of Lancashire said, “I was quite surprised when approached to be involved, but it’s a great opportunity to do something very different.”

Adding, “I don’t have a big role in the movie, I play myself and bowl – that can’t be too difficult to do!”

Victory is being filmed during the Australia-India series in Australia and will be released later in 2008. Check back here for more news!
