Vinod Chopra Films has always believed in the philosophy ‘Chase excellence and Success will follow’. Be it directors or actors, anyone who has worked with VCF, have successfully adhered to and deliver according to the same principle.
Names like Raju Hirani and Pradeep Sarkar are the best examples of debut directors from the VCF camp, to have raised the bar of excellence. Raju Hirani’s directorial debut Munna Bhai M.B.B.S was a huge success in 2003. The movie starring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi went on to win the national Film Award for the Best Popular Film, several Film Fare Awards including the Critic Award for the Best movie. It was also the fifth highest grossing movie of that year. Pradeep Sarkar with his directorial debut Parineeta, in 2005, created a magic on screen that will be difficult to recreate for years to come. The movie starring Saif Ali Khan and Vidya Balan was critically and commercially successful. Both the directors have created history and magic at the Box Office with their respective movies. The movies were everything one can expect from Vinod Chopra Films. Along with excellent cinematography, direction, and story etc. the movies essentially delivered a social message or portrayed a culture strongly.
Now VCF returns this year with another debut director in Rajesh Mapuskar. Rajesh will debut with his movie Ferrari Ki Sawaari. The movie has already created excitement among the audience. The film, speaking essentially about the strong bond between a father and son, also portrays the three generations of a Parsee family beautifully. Rajesh Mapuskar has a huge task in hand to keep up to the name and recreate the magic that the VCF is known for. What remains to be seen is whether Ferrari Ki Sawaari starring Sharman, one of the Idiots from the movie 3 Idiots, surpasses the success of the previous VCF Films.
