Deepika Padukone will be rushing home for Ganesh Chaturti. It’s the first time Deepika’s been home for three years and she’s very excited by it. The Om Shanti Om and Bachna Na Haseeno star said “I’ve either been shooting out of the country or just been busy in Mumbai. It’s been a really hectic time for me.” Deepika won a Best Female Debut Award for Om Shanti Om and hasn’t looked back since. She will be rejoining SRK for the European leg of his Temptation Reloaded tour.

Danish-born Deepika, recently voted the world’s sexiest woman, and her family are followers of the remover of obstacles, “Am I religious? I don’t go to the temple every day,” she says, ”But my god is right here in my heart. I believe in a force. And that keeps me grounded.”

Deepika’s father and sister are both professional sportsmen and although her sister Alisha was recently offered a part in a movie, she turned it down. Deepika suggests that one actor in the family is enough, but being a good badminton player herself, she would like to do a sports movie. “I’d love to do a sports film. Not necessarily my dad’s game badminton but any sport except cricket. I feel too much priority is given to cricket in our country,” she explains, “I’m so glad that films on other sports like hockey and football are being made. I’d love to do a film based on badminton.”

The actress is hoping to make it three hits in a row with Akshay Kumar in Chandni Chowk to China and she will then appear with Akshay again in the romantic comedy Housefull. She will also be making a song-and-dance appearance in SRK’s Billo Barber due out at Diwali and it seems she will then pop up in Mera Jaan with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.

Things are looking good for Deepika on all fronts. She recently replaced Preity Zinta in the BSNL ads and has made a good impression on Ranbir’s parents, the legendary Rishi Kapoor and Netu Singh. It’s said that Rishi can’t wait to call her bahu!!
