Former model turned actress, Deepika Padukone lit up the runway at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week for designers Rana Gill and Rina Dhaka. “It’s great to be back with the same people I started off with and to know that they feel the same way for me,” she said, “No one has changed. It’s the same make-up artistes, same designers, same models and choreographers. So it’s really nice to come back to a place from where I started off.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Deepika closed the previous week’s Delhi Fashion Show designer Tarun Tahiliani. Deepika drew gasps from the audience in a full length gown in autumn colours of browns, greens and golds with waisted basque ornamentation.
Deepika is currently up for an award at the Asian Film Awards. Whilst Korean western, The Good The Bad and the Weird is tipped for the star prize of Best Film, Deepika is nominated for Best Actress for her role in Chandni Chowk to China. Akshay Kumar is up for the Best Actor Award for the same movie. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra has won the Neilsen Box Office Award for her contribution to Asian cinema.
On the movie front, we can expect to see Deepika soon in Love Auj Kal with Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Elizabeth Tan and the stunning Fagun Thakrar, followed by Farhan Akhtar’s intriguing Kartik Calling Kartik.
