Since the announcement of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film, Ram Leela, there has been a lot of talk about which heroine will play the female lead.
Kareena Kapoor was first reported to play Leela, next it was Priyanka Chopra and now it has been announced Deepika Padukone is set to take on the female lead opposite Ranveer Singh.
A source close to the director told the media, “Sanjay feels Deepika is indeed most suited to play Leela and he fails to understand why he never looked at Deepika in that perspective.”
Reportedly Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone and have been ‘ordered’ by Sanjay Leela Bhansali to hang out together and become comfortable so they can have a good on-screen chemistry.
Speaking to the media, Deepika’s manager shared how the actress has already started preparing for the role, “Every day, Deepika has been devoting more than 12 hours to the workshop. She and Ranveer did not know each other socially before this. She has also been rehearsing scenes, and is finalising her look for the film, which will roll in the first week of September.”
Ram Leela is a Bollywood version of Romeo and Juliet and is set to release in 2013.
