Deepika’s ‘Cocktail’ inspires Scooty ads

Actress Deepika Padukone had bagged a Scooty brand, immediately after her outstanding performance in Cocktail managed to break the clutter in the romantic-comedy genre.

Impressed by her over-the-top and audacious role of Veronica in Cocktail, the 26-year-old sultry actress had been offered to be the ambassador of a top automobile brand.

Deepika had signed the deal of endorsing a Scooty for a huge amount; however, the exact figures have not been disclosed.

After seeing Deepika’s performance in Cocktail, the owners of the brand thought that she will be the perfect face for endorsing the brand as she so successfully played the character of a free spirit, who lives life on her own terms.

Now the latest is that the sales of the brand have gone up by 20 per cent, which is quite impressive. The brand now plans to have a Veronica series, where the character or persona of Veronica takes different situations and expands the campaign.

This is quite similar to Aamir Khan’s Coca-Cola campaign where he took on different characters, and here Deepika takes on different situations.

Deepika Padukone’s spokesperson said: “When the brand shared their research, we were also pleasantly surprised at immediate results. It only goes to show everyone has loved her performance in Cocktail and identified with her character”.

The actress will be seen next in Abbas-Mustan’s Race 2.
