Naturally when Aamir Khan’s name is connected to a project you must expect the unexpected. The casting will be delayed, the film will be delayed, and even the DVD will be delayed! I guess perfection takes time. This trend continues with his next production Delhi Belly to be directed by debutant Abhinay Deo and more interestingly is an English film.
You all may have been away about the casting issues as media reported that the baton was transferred from Ranbir to Siddharth to now Imran, however much of that is factual is another story! Now it seems that the project is suffering more delays due to Aamir’s many reservations about the project. It seems that Aamir had multiple issues with the film when it was completed and so he’;s said that he’ll be personally sitting on the editing table. However, ‘perfectionist Khan is too busy with other commitments such as Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots and he’s adamant to give undivided attention to Delhi Belly so it looks like Abhinay Deo and the rest will have to wait until this superstar’s calendar is a bit emptier than it is right now.
Aamir has always been as serious about his productions as he is about his direction and acting projects. For Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na the actor was not able to free up his calendar so he got the person he trusted the most to replace him in overseeing the project, that being cousin Mansoor Khan whose films Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander are regarded as iconic pieces of cinema.
Coming back to Delhi Belly, the film stars in lead roles Imran Khan, Ishq Vishk debutant and VJ Shenaz Treasurywala, Vir Das, Kunal Roy Kapur and Poorna Jaganathan.
