Seems we have another battle at the box office in October. This time the date is October 19th when director Nikhil Advani’s 3D animation film Delhi Safari and Karan Johar’s directorial comeback Student of the Year are scheduled to release.
Asked why Nikhil opted to release his film on the very same day as that of KJo, he says, “Who wants to clash with Karan? The decision has been taken by the distributor and producer. The first week of October is observed as wildlife week. It made sense to release the film during that time as it will help our campaign.” Interestingly Nikhil and Karan had last teamed up in 2003 for the blockbuster Kal Ho Na Ho.
Delhi Safari is about five animals from Borivali National Park, who meet the Prime Minister in Delhi with a plea to stop builders from encroaching on their forests. The film releases on October 19, 2012.
