Pretty Kaveri Jha has already made her Bollywood debut – opposite Shiney Ahuja in the quickly forgotten Hijack – so it’s not been a dream debut for her. However, she is destined to return and is currently developing her potential down south in a string of movies, including Ooha Chitram, Naa Girl Friend Baaga Rich and Bum Bum Bole.
Naa Girl Friend stars Sivaji and Bum Bum Bole is a remake of the Iranian film Children of Heaven and also features Rituparna Sengupta, so they should both prove interesting. Kaveri is one of the Flynn Remedios stable of performers and he promises some big banner Bollywood headlines for Kaveri in the near future.
Whilst filming in the South, Kaveri was mistaken for a farm hand. “Around mid-November, I was shooting in the fields of Ooty for a Tamil movie,” she says, “My costumes and the outfit I was wearing were so natural and looked real, like any of the women working in the fields nearby. During a break in the shoot, I went for a walk to breathe some fresh air. I was walking around some fields when a farm supervisor approached me and rebuked me in Tamil. I didn’t understand much but it was quite clear that he was scolding me for not working and rambling around. It took him a full five minutes to realize that I was an actress and not a local!!”
