It’s a special year for the recipient of multiple National awards and Padma Bhushan Awards, the music legend, Ilaiyaraaja, touted the greatest music composer of the country as he completes his 1000th film with Eros International’s Shamitabh directed by R. Balki and the film is going all out to celebrate this musical genius.
On the occasion, the makers of Shamitabh will host an intimate event that will pay tribute to Ilaiyaraaja and his greatest works as they launch the music of the film – As a special surprise to the music legend, actor-singer Dhanush will perform three of the maestro’s songs given the immense love and respect he has for the music composer.
What’s more is that this will be Dhanush’s first live performance in Mumbai.
Confirming the news says Dhanush, “Yes I look forward to surprising Raja sir on his special day – He is my most favorite music director. His music has been my lullaby, my food, my breath and has enveloped my life and shaped my love for music.”
Shamitabh is set to release in UK cinemas on 6th February 2015 through Eros International.
