Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat had its world premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival and the film was given a standing ovation. We were there at the screening and our writer Aly Kassam wrote in a rave review, “Rao’s Dhobi Ghat is a genuinely good film, if not great. It’s so rare to come across directors (in any country!) who almost seem to give a piece of their soul to their films to make them truly unique. When you see Dhobi Ghat you will realize that Rao has made the film exactly the way she wanted to. This film has been made with tons of heart, and not the cheesy kind. It’s truly moving.”

In this exclusive, writer/director Kiran Rao and star Aamir Khan talk about the experience of premiering the film at TIFF. We also see some footage from the event at the festival. Enjoy!
