Bollywood Monster Mashup (BMM), Canada’s largest Bollywood show, presented by Clorox, is all set to make your coming weekend monstrously entertaining with an unique array of free performances all day on Saturday, August 24 at Mississauga Celebration Square.

“Bollywood Monster Mashup is all about family fun and world-class performances,” said Vikas Kohli, Producer, BMM. “Whether you like music, dance, films or any other art form, Bollywood Monster Mashup will have something special for everyone this year and it’s all free!”

Last week BMM revealed that international Bollywood singing sensation and People’s Choice Award winner for 2013, Kamal Khan, will headline the festival. Another reveal was the creation of the Bollywood Dragon Orchestra, which is a combination of Indian and Chinese music. Additionally, BMM is presenting the following unique performances:

BMM will be first to preview a sneak peak of India’s first YouTube sensation Wilbur Sargunaraj’s feature film “Annie Rose”. Then join Wilbur as he leads the audience in a special live music and dance performance. “Bollywood Monster Mashup has a special place in my heart,” said Sargunaraj. “It is an honour to preview my feature film at the festival and I am looking forward to entertaining the audience at the show!”

Groove to the beats of West-Indian crossover band Destiny. This monstrous 10-piece band recently won awards for Best Soca/Calypso Band as well as Best Soca Artist for one of their lead singers, Curtis B. Destiny will get you winding as they mashup Bollywood hit songs with soca, chutney and reggae rhythms.

He may be young, but he’s full of talent. Watch the 2013 winner of South Asia’s Got Talent, Shawn “Dholi” Bhela, as he performs his winning routine with tabla and dhol.

For it’s 3rd year, BMM has gone bigger and better with expanded programming and a number of pre-events lined up prior to the free main show on Saturday, August 24, 2013. On August 19, Mississauga Arts Council’s (MAC) 2013 Media Summit kicked off with a red carpet and a special preview of the BMM Film Festival happening August 24. On August 22, the Art Gallery of Mississauga (AGM) presents “Monster Mixer,” a South Asian singles night in collaboration with BMM and hosted by popular South Asian comedian Jus Reign within the backdrop of the 011+91|011+92 South Asian art exhibition. On August 24, in addition to the acts outlined above, Divine Heritage Artistry will be performing Global Rhythms and the whole family will be entertained with a full day of free activities. There’s the Clorox Bollywood Mashup KidZone, Dandiya in the Square, the Bring Your Own Bollywood photo-booth, FILMI Bollywood Monster Mashup Film Festival, the TD Bollywood Mashup Dancers, “Pieces” (a Bollywood skit), the Absolute Yellow art installation and the MONITOR 9 video art festival and wine reception.
