Emraan Hashmi is taking on a very intense character in the gritty drama Ground Zero and we have the trailer! Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, the film also features Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, Mukesh Tiwari, Deepak Parmesh, Lalit Prabhakar, Rockey Raina, and Rahul Vohra.
Based on a true story Ground Zero is an untold story of courage and sacrifice set against the backdrop of war. The film is a gritty story inspired by a mission by the Border Security Force that took place in 2001.
Talking about the film, Emrasn said at the launch, “Truth is stranger than fiction. This phrase is so appropriate for this. The way all these officers planned this operation and executed the final encounter in 2003, it’s extraordinary and unbelievable.”
Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, the BSF officer who led the operation, who Emraan plays in the film, said. “This creation will bring out in the public the contribution of BSF in controlling terrorism for 15 years in Kashmir. We never imagined that this operation will be presented in such a big film 22 years after it took place.”
Emraan added, “I’m very fortunate that we’ve got the opportunity to show this film on the big screen. It’s a fabulous cinematic watch. Not because it’s got action, drama, and thrills, but also because at its heart, it’s an emotional, human story, and the story of the sacrifice of these BSF officers.”
Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Movies, Ground Zero is releasing in cinemas on April 25, 2025.
