Actress Sridevi’s film English Vinglish has apparently moved superstar Amitabh Bachchan to tears. The film, in which Mr. Bachchan has done a cameo, is Sridevi’s comeback film after a gap of 15 years.

BigB wrote on his blog about how the movie left him with a ‘lump in his throat’ and his eyes were filled with tears. He also wrote that it is not just one moment or a particular scene that puts you into such an emotional state, but an overall appreciation that you just cannot express.

He exclaimed that within the ordinary daily life shown in the film lies the story of a lifetime. “This movie says a lot in very little words. I am mesmerized,” he added.

English Vinglish is the story of a midde class housewife who enrolls herself for an English speaking course in order to impress her husband and family. R Balki, the producer of the film, has said that it has been written keeping Sridevi in mind and it is tailor-made for her. Hrithik Roshan, who has shared screen space with Sridevi as a child artist, says he is sure it is going to be a winner. He even delayed his outdoor shoot to be there to watch the premier on Oct 4, as the movie releases on Oct 5.

The film premiered at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto on 14th September 2012 and received a loud round of applause and a standing ovation from the audience, which was a sold out premiere. They said that applauding was just not enough and it deserved the standing ovation.

English Vinglish is Gauri Shinde’s debut as a director and will release on Oct 5.
