Eros films win top honors at the prestigious 63rd National Film Awards

The 63rd National Awards have been announced across categories and multiple languages, and Eros’ 2015 releases have once again triumphed with its critically and commercially acclaimed films, such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Bajirao Mastani and Tanu Weds Manu Returns among others winning multiple awards.

While Kangana Ranaut won Best Actress for her role in Aanand L Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns, the biggest grosser of 2015, Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, starring Salman Khan, won Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic love story Bajirao Mastani swept away 3 awards — Sanjay Leela Bhansali won Best Director, Remo D’Souza won Best Choreography for the ‘Deewani Mastani’ song and Sudeep Chaterjee won Best Cinematography. Himanshu Sharma won in Best Screenplay Dialogue and Best Screenplay Writer (Original) categories for Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

One of the five films to be shortlisted for the official Oscar nomination from India, Eros’ Malayalam film Pathemari directed by director Salim Ahamed won the National Award for Best Malayalam Film as well.

Eros films have not only dominated the box office charts with the highest number of top-grossing films in 2015 but have also taken the awards season by storm having bagged a total of over 80 awards till now.
