Esha Deol strode the ramp for designer Rocky S’s wedding collection at the Wills International Fashion Week with a bridal blush on her face and her mother, Hema Malini, by her side. Esha wore a maroon-and-green lehenga-choli whilst her mother wore a sari in the same colour combination enhanced with a burnt orange blouse.
Admitting she was outside of her comfort zone on the ramp, Esha said she at least preferred for the moment to be a runway bride than the real thing. “I would rather be a runway bride,” she confirmed, “Thanks to Rocky for getting me and mom to walk down the ramp together with such lovely clothes. I was a bit nervous since I am wearing this heavy ghahgra but thankfully I had my mom to hold onto.”
Esha has a number of interesting films lined up including Tell Me Oh Khuda in which she stars with her real-life father Dharmendra as a woman looking for her biological parents. “We shoot in three different continents with three different cinematographers,” she explained, “So it’s like doing three different films. In Turkey I shot with Rishi Kapoor and in Jaisalmer I’m shooting with Vinod Khanna.” She has also just been cast in Mumbai, starring Arjun Rampal, Shahid Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma, which will be based on the Mumbai terror attacks.
